The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) is closely monitoring Hurricane Helene. The safety of its clients and their attendees is of the utmost importance. The OCCC will resume normal operations on Friday, Sept. 27, following Orange County’s reopening.
Hurricane Helene has upgraded to a category 1 hurricane that will strengthen over the next 24-36 hours. In Central Florida, we will experience strong winds and heavy rainfall that will begin on Thursday early afternoon. While Central Florida is not in the forecast cone, we are expected to experience tropical storm force winds. All preparations should be completed by sunset tonight. The heaviest rainfall and greatest wind will take place tomorrow afternoon and into the evening. We should see improvements by Friday morning.
