Orange County Convention Center Welcomes Back Veterinary Meeting and Expo

Orlando, FL (June 15, 2021) – The Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) proudly welcomed back the North American Veterinary Community’s (NAVC) 38th annual Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX). Featuring a hybrid meeting with virtual component, show organizers welcomed nearly 7,700 in-person veterinary professionals from June 6-9, creating $19.8 million of economic impact for the community.

“We are proud to have VMX call The Center of Hospitality home,” said OCCC Executive Director Mark Tester. “You can feel the excitement and positive energy on the expo floor and we are excited to be hosting major in-person conventions and trade shows again. We look forward to hosting VMX again in January 2022.”

From a “shark-tank” style pitch competition to presentations from world-renowned experts and live veterinary medicine demonstrations, VMX offered veterinarians and industry professionals in attendance a variety of resources and educational opportunities to take with them and apply into their practices.

“We had a great conference and it was terrific to be back in the Orange County Convention Center! People were happy to be together in person; you could see the smiles behind the masks!” said NAVC CEO Gene O’Neill.  “The OCCC provided the unsurpassed support they always do to help the NAVC deliver the world-class event our attendees look forward to each year. We can’t wait to be back in January to host VMX 2022.”

Over the last year, Americans have looked to their pets for comfort and companionship more than ever. Nearly 13 million cats and dogs found new homes, putting pet adoptions at an all-time high. VMX provides the platform for thousands of veterinarians to receive the education and training they need to stay current on the advancements in animal medicine, and ensure they are providing animals with the best, most up-to-date healthcare.

Veterinarian Clara Goh traveled from Colorado to attend VMX and teach fellow veterinarians how to help and diagnose dogs with orthopedic conditions.

“Being able to be at VMX again and have that interaction and face-to-face contact again is huge,” Goh said.
