PGA Merchandise Show 2020 has a Major Impact on the Central Florida Region

ORLANDO, Fla. – (Mar. 5, 2020) The PGA Merchandise Show returned to the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) for the 35th year from Jan. 21-24, attracting nearly 40,000 golf industry professionals from all corners of the U.S. and more than 80 countries. It is estimated that this leading industry event contributed a major $102.7 million in economic impact to the Central Florida region. 

The OCCC first hosted the PGA Merchandise Show in 1985, and has continued to welcome the world-renowned event annually. Over the years, the event has grown exponentially in size, boasting one million square feet of interactive exhibit, product exhibition and industry presentation space at this year’s show. Attracting thousands of professionals to Orlando each year, the PGA Show continues to drive the business of golf forward by providing countless opportunities for attendees to learn the latest and greatest in industry trends and merchandise from trade experts and professionals.

“The Orange County Convention Center has been a tremendous home to the PGA Merchandise Show for more than three decades and the leadership at the facility and in Orlando have been supportive of the golf industry, and our event, at every turn,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions Event Vice President Marc Simon. “The OCCC has ideal exhibition and meeting spaces for the PGA Show and Orlando is an attractive destination for our global attendees.”

The OCCC values its long-standing relationship with the PGA Merchandise Show, and Center leadership is excited to see what the future has in store for the event, as they continue to grow and expand their space.

“The PGA Merchandise Show is a longstanding, valued client and we have enjoyed watching their growth and success through the years,” said OCCC Executive Director Mark Tester. “As we continue to build for the future, we endeavor to create a space that nurtures the growth of events like the PGA Show.”

The event is contracted at the OCCC through 2028 and continues to contribute to Orlando’s continued success as a world-renowned golf destination. With many of golf’s biggest legends and sought-after designers having created golf courses in Orlando, visitors come to master some of the most gorgeous and challenging greens in the world.
